Kane Communications Group is a Certified B Corporation

Kane has always been a purpose-led business. Since our beginnings in 2013, our desire to generate meaningful outcomes for our clients, be an employer of choice, manage our business ethically and sustainably and partner with our community has driven our team.

I’m excited to announce that because of this commitment, Kane has earned our certification as a B Corporation. Similar to the key beliefs held here at Kane, B Corporations are companies that value purpose as much as profit. It is a community of like-minded businesses that want to share ideas, encourage each other and generate measurable and positive results for our stakeholders and our businesses. The B Corporation designation sets companies apart and affirms they, “meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, legal accountability and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.”

As a team, we are excited about what being a B Corporation means for our business and our clients. It provides a rigorous, objective view of where we are doing well and where there are opportunities to grow. This is especially important when considering the outcomes we generate for our employees, clients, vendors, the community and the environment. It’s also a way of demonstrating our core beliefs as a business.

Earning this designation is not easy. After a rigorous year-long process, Kane became one of only three certified B Corporations in the communications industry in Wisconsin. We’re thrilled to join a global network of 6,000 B Corporations across 180 different industries. Some of these organizations are top global brands such as Nespresso, Illy, Danone, Eillen Fischer, Athleta, Rituals, Chloé, Lombard Odier, Brew Dog, Coursera, Allbirds, Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, TOMS shoes and a number of Wisconsin brands including Stone Creek Coffee and Lakefront Brewery.

In addition to earning the B Corporation designation, Kane was also granted an Impact Business Model as a company that, “provides services that enable the financial or operational success of businesses that are purpose-driven.” For our clients, this means that our strategic communications processes generate meaningful and significant outcomes.

In the end, our B Corporation designation and earning the Impact Business Model is just the beginning here at Kane. We look forward to using this certification to the benefit of our clients as we coach and support them on their journey to becoming profitable purpose-led brands that create value for people, our planet and our communities. Research also shows that companies with reputations built upon a track record of strong corporate citizenship weather issues and crises much better than those who have not invested in this work.
